Did Lumen Say Goodbye? Find Out What Local Service Is All About Again

Lumen stopped selling and renewing business voice on August 1, 2026. Delaware businesses on Lumen SIP trunks, PRI circuits, or hosted voice can move to a licensed carrier, keep every number, and get installation on site.

What Lumen announced

  • August 1, 2026: Lumen stopped selling and renewing business voice, including SIP trunking, Voice Complete, and voice for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, according to Channel Dive. Industry reports also list PRI circuits, analog lines, and toll-free service.
  • Existing customers: current contracts are honored, then move to month-to-month instead of renewing.
  • What comes next: on Lumen’s August earnings call, CFO Chris Stansbury said, “End of life is a different story; we’re going to be aggressive about that,” and called voice “not our future” (Channel Dive).

Lumen sells business voice nationwide, so this affects Delaware companies too, including businesses that still know the service as CenturyLink or Level 3.

Lumen had not published an end-of-life date for business voice when we checked on October 30, 2026. Lumen is a trademark of Lumen Technologies. USPBX is not affiliated with Lumen.
